Antiphon To His Coy Mistress
Time’s winged chariot treads on our heels,
But faster shall be our hearted wheels.
Let patience be a remedy
To your sorrow and tragedy.
Your lust, be it satiated
Virginity abdicated.
In sacred union— yin and yang,
So arrest your hasty harangue.
Together love will outrun time,
To defer the sport is no crime.
The embers of my youth ablaze
Gentle blow of melodic phrase.
Not mauve hued sky of setting sun,
But the fresh splash of vibrant fun.
